Valley EFAP Confidentiality

Welcome to the Valley Employee & Family Assitance Program

Any business or organization, large or small, can join Valley EFAP. The cost for membership is dependent per FTE (Full-time equivalent). Two part-time employees would equal one full-time equivalent. This fee covers employees and their dependent family members. Retirees and their dependent family members are covered at no additional cost. Other services provided by Valley EFAP are also covered by the membership fee.

3 - 5% of the work force misuse drugs like valium, Demerol, codeine, cannabis and cocaine.

Confidentiality & Anonymity

All counselling is away from the workplace at Valley EFAP offices.
Individuals from the same worksite are never scheduled for back-to-back appointments.
Identifying messages will not be left at home or work without consent.
Statistical reports do not include any identifiable information from an individual.

All Valley EFAP professionals are legally and ethically bound to protect the confidentiality of their clients within the limits of the law. They are:

When we have reasonable grounds to suspect that any child, under 16 years of age, may be suffering or may have suffered physical or sexual abuse or neglect.
When we believe that the client is in imminent danger of harming himself/herself or others.
When files are subpoenaed to court which may occur in child custody, criminal matters, or other court-related situations.
